About PETS

The purpose of the presidents-elect training seminar (PETS) is to develop club presidents who have the necessary skills, knowledge, and motivation to lead an effective club. In addition to PETS, club presidents-elect receive additional training at the district assembly.

Presidents-elect are encouraged to review the PowerPoint file entitled Preparing For PETS and to read the Club President's Manual before training so that they will arrive at PETS prepared to discuss their duties and goals for the coming year. PETS Discussion Questions have been provided so that presidents-elect will be able to reflect on their responses before training.

Attendance at PETS is now required by Rotary International for all presidents-elect in order to serve as president of your Rotary club.  If you can not attend Mid-America PETS, then you can attend another PETS with your district governor-elect's permission.  For a list of other multi-districts PETS, click here.

Dear Planning Committee,
I attended the PETS Training this last weekend and felt it was a huge success. So many ideas and thoughts following the sessions, I am a president nominee, so I have a year to plan. I did not get an evaluation sheet in my folder but had a couple of thoughts.

First, I registered for the MAPETS, but had nothing sent to me to say you received my information or what to expect. A simple email. I did read the how to plan but just a note via email saying "We look forward to seeing you there" would have made me feel a bit more at ease coming in on Friday. Totally felt out of the loop. (Thanks to Jayne Lowe for keeping connected)

Second, I loved the break out sessions it was nice to be divided by size but after a couple of sessions, we were hearing the same ideas and thoughts (even though they were different topics). I would love to had an opportunity to learn from the small and larger size rotary groups.

I appreciate all of the hardwork and the facilitators, they were great. I am so excited for my new adventure as President Elect and President in the next two years.

Also can you tell me when Ed Hardesty's powerpoint will be available on Club Leadership.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Kalene Griffith
